Ludham church

The present church was begun in the 14th century, but only the striking west tower and the chancel date from this period. The nave was rebuilt in the 15th.


This is a wonderful church, very moving, prayerful without being distant, welcoming without being touristy. I look forward to going back.


This Church is partially built on Anglo Saxon foundations, the bell tower and sacristy are 14th century and the nave 15th, look for graffiti, and look back from the Alter to see a banner celebrateing loyalty to Queen Elizabeth th first.

Although the oldest parts of the current church of St. Catherine only dates back to the 14th century there is evidence that an earlier church stood here back in the 11th century. The dragon made a lair of tunnels under the churchyard and across to the main street.

Breathe-taking views, mills, and a quaint village make this a very special walk. From the car park turn left onto Horsefen Road.


It’s a lovely chocolate box village with pretty thatched houses and a large church to explore. There is a primary school and nursery and a number of other schools located a few miles away.


The village is ideally located to explore The Broads.
