Calidus gyrocopter review

What is calidus innovative? How much does a calidus kit cost? The innovative Calidus is unique and ground breaking in design and engineering, in comfort and in flight characteristics.

Prepared for the most diverse demands and weather conditions, the Calidus copes easily with turbulence and proves that the air is its element. With Calidus you can experience all of it.

Calidus – Type Certified or Experimental Amateur Built Kit Available Just get on boar fly away, fly to the horizon and enjoy the never-ending vastness – that’s how your dreams come true.

At the same time, most gyroplanes can fly as fast as a helicopter or GA airplane (about 1knots) and can be flown in winds that would ground a helicopter or GA aircraft. Thus, the gyroplane is an exceedingly stable flying platform, unlike helicopters. The British company’s managing director, Gerry Speich, is in the Calidus with me. I flew the Calidus with Michael Burton in the back seat who in my opinion is a larger than average person.

I don’t know if he was comfortable but I was and he did not interfere with my arms or control inputs. The cabin had no perceptible shake and the stick could not have been any smoother.

Gyrocopter pilots avoid weightless flight but not aerobatics. The Calidus I flew was extremely smooth.

A British airshow pilot uses an AutoGyro in his act of swoops, dives, tight downward spirals, and fast turns. Top speed is 120mph with an endurance of between and hours on a full tank of about litres of fuel.

There are two canopy options, a fully enclosed. I would recommend that you take a look at one of the modern designs that has been approved to BCAR section T. Yes it was Popham in the video. Incidentally, Rotorsport were back there last weekend for the microlight fair, with MTOSport, Calidus and Cavalon aircraft, with trial flights available - see here. One membership space has become available - come and join the Gyronauts!

Xenon with Rotax 9only 3mtg. Entrancing and captivating. Whichever way you look at the Cavalon, she is a magnificent machine.

From her distinctive Gull-Wing doors, to the ergonomically designed and crafted interior, it simply looks right. Generous picture windows are not only elegant in design, they are functional too, offering a stunning perspective to the viewer.

The futuristic-shaped pod glides over a wintry countryside shorn of its fleece of late-morning mist. With tandem seating and no wing below the huge, clear canopy, its owner and I have unobstructed. I was building a Calidus gyrocopter, and to be specific, a two-seat tandem new generation craft, with a Rotax 914UL engine, fully enclose modern cockpit. This was not the Bensen copters of the 60s.

The craft is a Calidus model made by AutoGyro of Germany. The flying machine can reach 1miles per hour and it retails for $9000.

Looking like something out of a James Bond film, the. Yes the machine is nice and very stable (almost too much pressure required for holding pitch away from trim I would say and dampening the phugoid oscillations is no problem). I am close to buying a auto gyro I have not seen either of these aircraft but will before I buy. But for the people who have seen the Calidus and The Ela eclipse of these two tmodels what is your take on which craft you would rather have and why.

Thank you in advance for you input. Flights are usually scheduled on a Saturday as we’re a full time pilot training school during the week. We have open-cockpit and enclosed-cockpit models available. Each flight experience.

AutoGyro ’s Calidus gyroplane which has the same rotor as the MTOsport but an aerodynamically improved fuselage leading to kts higher cruising speed and reduced fuel consumption. The main undercarriage detached from the fuselage.
