Exhaust emission warning light

What does emission system warning light mean? Is there a problem with the emissions warning light? Why is my Emissions warning light flashing on my dashboard?

What is the engine warning light on a VW? Most of the time, when an Emissions Light comes on, it is due to either a sensor or a problem with the exhaust gas recirculation valve.

It is also possible that you have a vacuum hose that has become disconnecte or has developed cracks. So, is it safe to drive with the Emissions Control Light on? However, you should still find out what is causing the problem, and then have it fixed. The emissions warning light being illuminated on the dashboard usually means a sensor on your exhaust system is failing, it can also mean there is an engine issue and this is causing an emissions warning.

The warning light for your engine is usually illuminated when prompted by the engine control unit ( ECU ) that manages the engine. This occurs if it determines that a part or system in your engine is. It will not happen on cars driven at speed.

Hope this helps and saves a bill at the local dealer.

The manual seems quite clear that this light is for the exhaust emissions only. Press and hold Brake and accelerator pedal down to the floor, put the key in the ignition and turn to position (all lights on dash will be lit), keep the pedals pressed and then the display will read ECN.

VW ESP ( Electronic Stabilization Program) warning light. This warning light indicates a problem with traction control. If it’s flashing it means the ESP system is intervening – for example, if you’re driving on a slippery road.

If the light stays on it means the ESP system is deactivated. General Chat: Hello! Exhaust Emission Warning Light. Bought me a RmkIV yesterday. Engine running fine, no missfires. I disconnected the batteri for one hour. And when I connected. Vauxhall will not acknowledge that there is a problem. Not sure yet if other models are known to have this problem. When the emission light comes “ON,” but there are no interruptions in how your car operates, there is an issue with the sensor.

This, in turn, means that there are no potential risks that you have to look after. It is a common system failure that leads to the dashboard light malfunctioning.

The check engine light, also known as the Malfunction Indicator Lamp, is a signal from the engine control unit (ECU) which indicates that there is a fault with the engine system. There are a number of issues that can make the check engine light come on. This light will come on if there is a problem the with diesel particulate filter, which removes harmful soot from the exhaust gases to reduce emissions.

It could indicate that the filter has become blocked with soot. After the problem causing the light to come on has been resolve the light will automatically turn off in many cases.

Re: exhaust emission warning light ! This morning I started the car to see if the light was still on - and it. I did just that at quite a humble pace. While out driving yesterday the light on the dash which corresponds to the exhaust emissions warning lamp came on and has stayed on.

This is totally separate from the EML light which had never been illuminated but I understand that it can relate to non.
