2004 Triumph tiger 955i problems

Tigers in (seemingly) good shape and low mileage, NEVER. But any problems should have become apparent by now. Triumph Tiger 955i including. Some 9owners have complained of excessive popping on the over run paired with low (engine) speed problems, this can be cured by fitting an Osensor.

Was riding and all of a sudden bike dies, no power to lights speedo or any gauges, starter button wouldnt work. Pushed home and turned key on all lights worked and. Forks are new 43mm items. Hi, Billy and the usual suspects are: 1. Throttle cables improperly adjusted.

Idle screw set too low. Faulty air control valve.

Charging the battery is not a problem, found this out at Calais after leaving Sat nav on (wired direct to battery but forgot to remove) after bumping of and 1miles bikes stared up fine but it’s this light flicker that’s my problem, dash lights too. Yesterday, the rev counter lost count and the speedo was intermittent in working. I had ridden 1miles, arrived home and left it around hours before putting her away.

When I went to start her, battery was dead. The dash lights had become quite dim for the last miles or so. I have charged the battery over. My old 955i Tiger had very similar issues.

I finally broke down and contacted an independent shop that I trust. They tested the electricals and found a bad charging system. To view more specifications, visit our Detailed Specifications.

Some were easy to diagnose, and others went on without any solutions. And the new version is even better, says Tim Luckhurst. The 5was never an economical bike – it was all too easy to dip down to 30mpg with spirited riding, and averaging much more than mid-30s took a bit of restraint on twisty roads. Question for Tiger 9owners.

I am glad you found the problem and fixed it. I disconnected the battery to connect the sat nav and charging leads. Now I only have lights, horn, indicators but no ignition lights.

It refuses to tick over when started from cold. After a couple of miles down the roa it seems fine. I run a 955i Tiger and its a great bike, mines got some miles on it too (50K).

That didnt sit right so I bought bearings and a seal off the net for next to nothing and an actuating rod from triumph for £and re-conned the casing. A great bike to live with day in, day out and manages to out-bat the Honda on all fronts. Hurrah for Blighty! Category: Adventure.

RON (about PON or Super in the United States) octane fuel, needed for its high compression ratio of 11. It also has a decent enough injection system. If that’s right, it is one of the quickest trail motorcycles on the road.
