The main event for the club is the annual rally. The Melplash Agricultural Society’s Annual Hedgelaying and Ploughing match promotes and celebrates local agriculture and farming skills. Standing high above Beaminster it really was a sight to see.

Match Ploughing has 2members. Entry fees remain at £for members and now £for non members. The day started with nice warm weather but soon the sun was looking down on us with full force degrees. The soil was dry and a lot of staw on top made ploughing difficult.
With its conventional and reversible ploughing, garden and produce show and YFC competitions its a great day out for the whole family.
The organisers introduced a new class for three-furrow mounted. It was a glorious early autumn day and well attended by locals, with many people travelling quite a distance to join us. There were approximately ploughmen and over 1entires in the Domestic section which was marvellous.
It brings people together all in the name of a bit of light (and not so light in some cases!) sportsmanship. It is predominantly for ploughmen in the Redbourn district but we do allow entries from further afield.
Trumpet Ploughing Match. Fri 23rd - Sun 25th. King George Challenge Cup. Gardai are advising patrons to plan their route, making reference to the traffic management plans below, and most importantly to leave plenty of time to make their journeys.

As usual there will be the normal ploughing match in the morning and the Country Show in the afternoon with all your favorite exhibitions and demonstrations. Ploughing at this level, using motorized machinery ranging from the most modern right back to the end of the First World War, simply had to be seen to be believed!
The majority of the contestants spent literally hours adjusting the plough by means of spanners and tape measures, so as to get the angle exactly right to match the conditions. Website - Updated For You.

We will, however, monitor goverment advice in relation to COVID-19. As everyone is aware, the situation surrounding the current crisis is fast-moving and ever-changing.
Like so many other events, the FFFB stands ready to amend and adapt plans accordingly. A sunny day coincided with a bright outlook for Denbighshire’s annual ploughing match.
Not only did the event attract a healthy entries, two new sponsors came forward to support category awards. Held annually near to the Village of Budby, on the A61 in North Nottinghamshire.
