C4 cactus review

The CCactus has always been a tricky car to position against rivals. Is the CCactus a reliable car? What is the case with the CCactus? It’s the kind of fun. Instea the emphasis is squarely on.

Some will miss the rather extreme looks that characterised the original version of this car but what remains still has plenty of charm. The remote steering that fails to weight up.

Can its hydraulic suspension and new seats make up for that? Once a wacky, slightly left-field choice that was more Marmite than conformist, the new car is slightly more conventional.


That’s true of the styling, which has. The 17" black alloys give the car rugged looks and excellent grip on most. With its distinctive looks and low running costs, this is certainly worth a look for anyone who’s after a small family car that’s a little bit different. Citroen’s CCactus has grown up.


Brake pads for the front start at around £2 but you could pay as much as around £for a pricier brand. Rear brake pads are around £20. Front brake discs sit in the £26-£bracket, while a pair of rear brake discs will be around. The main appeal of the CCactus lies in its individuality, with styling – both inside and outside – that’s distinctly different to anything else on the road.

But I learnt last week that, actually, CV stands for Chevaux-Vapeur. The new CCactus has been. CO– however this is only possible on 15-inch wheels.

Not enough to buy one, though. Speaking of weight, in some configurations, the CCactus weighs in at less than one tonne — considering the size of the car, that’s incredible.


Under the bonnet, the CCactus is available with two engine types: petrol and diesel. Despite the impressive equipment haul, the CCactus is very light for a five-seat family car, giving it superb fuel economy. From the exterior, you could almost swear the CCactus belongs to the upper class DS range. It has a smooth body shape, split headlamps with some thin LED daytime running lights like the C4.


CCactus Hatch adopts the classic cues of the segment in terms of technology and engines while continuing to stand apart with its unique personality and levels of comfort.
