Haggis recipes ideas

While this may seem revulsive to you, let me remind you that these are—minus the oatmeal—the typical ingredients of your hot dog wiener. The Macsween family recipe, handed down from generation to generation, is still used today. Macsween also make a vegetarian haggis which is available from Waitrose. It is made from a mixture of kidney beans, lentils, vegetables and nuts which are combined with the traditional haggis ingredients: oatmeal, onions and the same spicy seasoning base.

It is suitable for vegans and has a subtle. I’ve never cooked a turnip, ever…any tasty suggestions?


The great thing with adding Simon Howie haggis to the mix is the seasoning is done by the haggis and gives the burger an amazing flavour while also helping to hold in the moisture. To make the burger it’s as simple as mixing the haggis and the minced beef together and adding a little salt.


In my opinion I think burgers should be pressed.
