UK Ploughing Matches. Ploughing matches are held on a local level throughout the country, with the majority being held during September, October and November. This list is updated weekly throughout the year. The Society of Ploughmen accepts no liability for any errors in below.

The roots of The Trumpet Agricultural Society go back more than years, to the Second World War. Home guard members were not only busy practising wartime doodlebug and blackout drills, but also hatching a plan to form a society whose match was to become the biggest one-day draw for ploughmen.
