It is a registered charity run by volunteers from the farming community. If it wants to be the (much needed) governing body, and set up the rules etc then it must also be seen to obey them, have a system in place to enforce them, with suitable penalties for wrong doers, be they judges,match officials, or ploughmen.
Affiliated societies must be stopped from stating " SOP rules apply" in their rules, then going off and doing something completely different, there. Also attached is a list of approved Vintage Horticultural Tractors and a copy of the rules.

Judges method of scoring 4. This has meant that we had to progress on an invite only basis to initially ploughmen and to limit the area from which ploughmen are based which was initially miles from the site. I had to reset the plough to ensure that I could do this.

The Dinner returned to the Sidney Hole Memorial Hall, Burgess Hill. Bill Pile - a leading light in the Society, died this year, a fund was set up, and a cup provided in his memory. A class was introduced for barn-dried hay.
There were ploughmen - of which were in the high speed class.
