Council pick up

Arrange a special collection for large waste items - most councils will collect things like old sofas, fridges or washing machines for a fee. To help us improve GOV. UK, we’d like to know more.

There is a charge for each individual item uplifted. Up to items will be collected per uplift.

If you or a member of your household have Coronavirus symptoms, you should not book an uplift. If you have already booked an appointment, please cancel your booking and re-book once you are fit and well again.

Contact your council directly if you live in Scotlan or Northern Ireland. We’ll send you a link to a feedback form. You can ask the council to collect certain bulky items for you. If you are having electrical goods and other items collecte we will arrange to pick these items on a separate collection.

This can be anything from garden furniture, televisions, fridges, and carpets. Items that are not on the order will not be collected.

Where do I put items for collection? Once you have booked your uplift, you should place your items to the front of your property (without blocking the pavement) before 7am on the day of your collection.

Up to two free uplifts will be available for each household over the first five week period ending Friday October. Items for uplift must be presented at the nearest point of collection for our vehicle - this is usually at the front of your property, at the nearest point to the pavement.

Additional items can be collected for £5. The service costs £20. Request a collection. This service is for residential properties only and we do not collect from commercial premises or red routes.
