What does a service include

Do you know exactly what a Service comprises? What is included in Your Service?


We found that 92% of motorists don’t know what is included when their vehicle is serviced – not surprising, seeing as service checklists vary from garage to garage. It can assess everything from general wear and tear to fluids, brakes, the engine, and more.


Each service is different depending on your vehicle’s make and model. Chains and sprockets are not included in the service. Check chain and sprockets, brake pads and discs and inform you if they need. All services will include a comprehensive check of the exterior lights on your vehicle.


This includes making sure that all front, rear, side and main lights are in full working order. Indicators and hazard lights will also be checke as will the brake and reverse lights, fog lights and registration lights.

First up, most boiler engineers recommend annual servicing as being adequate for the majority of household boilers. The professional doing the boiler service should be Gas Safe Registered. A service is there to ensure that most of the key safety components and perishables that are needed to help your car run (oils, filters and fluids) are kept in good condition. Typically included in a basic car service is an oil change, oil filter change and an inspection of main components of the car. The garage you have chosen your job with will look at brake pads, discs and callipers, check your tyres for wear, light and various other checks depending on the garage.


An interim service generally checks levels of the fluids, including brake flui screen wash and anti-freeze coolant. In addition to this, it will also check the condition of the engine, such as the plugs and filter, as well as testing the batteries, lights and tyres. A basic service in my shop consists of an oil and oil filter change a visual inspection of brakes suspension and steering components as well as air filter and cabin air filter if equipped. The dodge takes quarts of 15w40. Our Full Service includes all items included in the Interim Service package plus a thorough inspection of your engine and a full brake inspection.


A major car service also includes an air filter and extensive checks of items under the bonnet including brake, fuel and radiator pipes and hoses, power steering fluid and auxiliary drive belt adjustments (if required). This is a visit we carry out in each contract year to check your boiler and central heating system or gas appliance (depending on what is included in your agreement) are safe and working correctly.

I have done over 90miles and I have serviced it regularly. I changed the Cam belt at 70miles and it has got a new starting motor. Servicing your car regularly is essential if you want it to stay in tip top condition.
